Naturally, there are thousands of books that touch on September
11, including picture books, books about the terrorist bombings themselves,
and background books. We have compiled a group of them on this page, and
in the beginning, we tried to group them so that you can find what you
want quickly. However, it looks as if it may be difficult to maintain
any kind of logical order, so we invite you to use the "Find"
tool at the top left of this page. We index the site frequently, so you
should be able to find what you're looking for. If not, please drop us
an email and we'll add it.

Terror in America by David M. Bresnahan
Rescue workers and one of the last men to come out of the north
tower alive recount what they experienced that tragic day. Touching,
personal stories of grief, pain, and the horror from which they
had to quickly recover so they could go about the work of rescuing
survivors.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this book will go into
an education fund that will be used for scholarships to help the
children of rescue workers have the education their parents worked
for, and hoped and prayed they would one day get.

Sometime
Lofty Towers: A Photographic Memorial of the World Trade Center
by Jake Rajs (Photographer), with introduction by Robert Hutchinson
A photographic elegy to the World Trade Center. The book restricts
itself to architectural images of the Towers' proud presence and
melancholy absence. Of the 46 full-color images of Lower Manhattan,
only one out of every five depicts the aftermath of the World Trade
Center's destruction. The post-destruction images silently point
at the Towers "in absentia"; each such image being juxtaposed
with an image of the Towers in their pride taken from a similar
viewpoint and in similar light.
